Hey,
I'm Ashley
I grew up in Florence, SC where I played outdoors at my grandparents farm as far back as I can remember. Nature, and a love of fine arts was instilled in me from a young age as a pillar of my homeschooling. We studied artists such as Van Gough, Norman Rockwell, Thomas Kinkade and several others. We played and studied music like Vivaldi, George Fredrick Handel, and Mozart. We read classic literature such as the count of Monte Cristo, Ben-Hurr, autobiography's such as Ronald Reagan, science fiction, Watership Down, Lord of the Rings, and many, many more. All of which formed the foundation for what was to become my deep appreciation of art and beauty.
As I got older and developed an eye for detail, I took to observing people in a crowd. I would pay attention to the individual and watch their body language, learning to read them and predict their movements, facial expressions and gestures. At the age of 15, my uncle who is a professional photographer, asked for my help to shoot a wedding. He checked the settings, handed me the camera and said "Have at it." After the wedding he was impressed and encouraged me to take all the classes I could in college for photography, which I did.
After college my priorities changed. I set all art forms down for a time while I developed a deeper love for other creative works. I curated as thorough of a study as I could of whole foods and genuinely enjoyed cooking original meals for my family. Growing my own produce allowed me to control the quality and enrich the complex flavors. I learned how to preserve food, as well as the seeds for the following year. This study of how to provide for myself and use nature to heal turned self-educating into a hobby. I began to see beauty in a new area of life and learned to find pleasure in the things often taken for granted.
Finally picking my camera back up, I've been able to apply this love of nature and connectedness to my photography with revived vigor. Using the same hands that have plunged beneath the soil to heal the body, to craft precious moments so that others may feel a renewed sense of wonder and creativity.
Creating powerful imagery
for years to come.

01. Connect
Photography has been a passion since I was 15, when my uncle first handed me a camera and we shot my first wedding together. He told me to pursue this talent. So I did.
Share your story

02. Conceptualize
I had an idea to document small villages in Africa and share their stories, bring awareness to their simple way of life and their needs and publish it in a book. From here the idea has grown.
Develop Your Vision

03. Create
Building a studio in which I can put my talent to use to build up and encourage and capture stories is the process I find myself in now.
